Ecliptic Plane
The ecliptic is the celestial latitude at which Earth and other planets orbit the Sun. This work explores the conceptual systems we create while defining our reality. Our efforts to define the ecliptic plane in geometric terms show how human constructs are relative truths rather than absolutes. The background image depicts a section of outer space that has been mapped by a radio telescope. The spikes represent energy signals rising above background “noise,” suggesting the presence of matter where one expects to find nothing but the void.
