Score and CD: “Metamorphosis,” 2007

In this seven-minute work, each movement is based on a line of text from Lewis Carroll’s literary works. The opening is dubbed “Advice from a Caterpillar,” corresponding to Alice’s exchange with this character from Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland. Commissioned by a young pianist in USC’s Thornton School of Music, the CD contains an audio recording of the work’s first—and perhaps only—public performance.
